Residence

For a tour of our previous home, click here.

We now have bought our second home, and this time, we didn’t buy what would be considered a “fixer-upper” like our other house, but there’s still plenty to do before this home feels like ours.  Here’s the tour.  Enjoy!

The front of our new home after removing the extra top railing.  We loved the large front porch that could house about eight rocking chairs if we wanted it to.

Front porch: I love the brick basket weave pattern.  We don’t have any furniture yet for the porch, but we hope to remedy that soon now that the weather is warming up and we could actually enjoy using this space.

Front door, that has gorgeous leaded glass on the sides – I fell in love with these the first time we toured this house.

When you first enter, you come into a spacious foyer.  Here’s a shot looking back at the front door before any updates were made:

And here’s what it’s looking like now that we’ve added some color to the walls, updated the light switches and plate, the light fixture and added a few accessories including a bench:

And an after shot of the other side after adding some molding and updated the hardware to these two doors:

To the right, from this angle, is the living room.  Here it is empty of any furniture:

Fire place in living room before:

and here it is sporting a handsome shade of brown with a warmer tone on the walls, plus furniture and some accessories:

To the left of the foyer is the dining room here’s the before:

And after we painted, updated the light fixture, light switches and plates and moved in our furniture:

The dining room leads into the kitchen which at first was painted a striking yellow color:

but now is coated in my favorite color: BLUE!

Eat in kitchen:

and now that it has a cooler color plus some spunky black accents:

Bedroom One, also known as my home office:

Jack and Jill bath that connect bedroom one and two:

Bedroom two or the guest room:

Here’s a little nook at the end of the hallway with some cute built ins:

and now that’ we’ve moved in some stuff and updated the handles:

Master bedroom:

Master bath:

Downstairs is the den:

With sliding glass doors that lead to a patio.

There’s a full bath downstairs:

and a laundry room:

and here’s a shot of the backyard:

This concludes our tour.  I’ll continue to update our “afters “as we complete projects.
